Use of the JusProgDNS name server

If you have entered the IP addresses of the JusProgDNS name servers into your device or into a device used by minors, any domain names accessed will be sent to the JusProgDNS name server to be translated into IP addresses. For websites suitable for all ages, the server responds with the actual IP address of the relevant server; for websites that could be harmful to a child’s development, it redirects the request to a ‘false’ IP address, which results in a blocking page being displayed or, in the case of encrypted websites, the connection being terminated.

In the case of encrypted websites, providing a ‘false IP’ address may cause your browser to display a warning message stating that someone has intercepted your internet traffic. In fact, the internet data is neither manipulated nor read; instead, either an incorrect IP address is assigned in the name server, or the browser is simply informed that there is no IP address for the requested domain. However, JusProgDNS does not have access to encrypted data at any time.

No browsing log is created. To improve performance and protect the application against misuse, domain queries are logged (cached) for a few minutes and then deleted.

Queries made to the JusProg servers to determine a domain’s age classification and the caching of this information take place without any technical connection to your account and cannot technically be used to create a browsing profile.

To track usage quotas, the IP address you use (without registration) is stored in an encrypted format for a limited and technically necessary period, usually for 24 hours.

JusProgDNS uses servers in two data centres in different cities (primary and secondary name servers); both data centres are located in Germany.

Registration with JusProgDNS

If you or your organisation register with JusProgDNS, the data entered during registration will be stored electronically. Passwords are stored in encrypted form only and cannot be viewed in plain text, not even by JusProg administrators.

To ensure that nameserver queries via JusProgDNS can be technically assigned to your user account, please enter one or more static IP addresses or use the JusProgDNS DynDNS service. The IP address is stored in plain text. Once the IP address is available, your profile settings – such as any additional domains that have been authorised or blocked – can be assigned to the nameserver queries and taken into account.

Your profile data, including the IP address, will not be passed on to third parties and will be used exclusively for JusProgDNS and, where applicable, other JusProg applications or youth protection programmes.

Using the DynDNS service

If your internet service provider does not assign you a static IP address but instead one that changes dynamically on a regular basis, you can use the DynDNS service provided by JusProgDNS. This allows name server queries to be linked to your user account, ensuring that your individual settings are taken into account when deciding which content to filter.

When using the DynDNS service, your device – for example, your FRITZ!Box – transmits your current IP address to the JusProgDNS server at regular intervals or whenever it changes, and this address is stored in plain text on the server.

Your IP address is not passed on to third parties and is used by JusProgDNS only to the extent technically necessary; it is subsequently deleted automatically.

Privacy Policy regarding the use of Google Analytics

This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. IP anonymisation

We have enabled the IP anonymisation feature on this website. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data held by Google.

If you wish to subscribe to a newsletter offered on the website, we require your email address as well as information that enables us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you consent to receiving the newsletter. Your first name and surname are also required to ensure the newsletter is sent correctly, with clear attribution of the email address to its owner. No further data is collected. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your data and email address, and to their use for sending the newsletter, at any time, for example via the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter.

YouTube

Our website uses videos from YouTube, a site operated by Google. The operator of the site is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube video, a connection is established with YouTube’s servers. In doing so, the YouTube server may be informed of which of our pages you have visited. However, we generally use the video embedding feature with enhanced privacy settings.
